Fantastic design mirrored with great results December 21, 2009 Scott Anderson (Shepherdstown, WV) 18 out of 18 found this review helpful
As a professional chef I run across all sorts of products that are supposed to be the next best thing since sliced bread. However, this pan just so happens to be the next best thing, and I picked it up at my local Le Gourmet Chef in Hagerstown, MD.
Simply put the ultra smooth non-stick surface is smoother than glass; thus cooking requires little if no oil and clean up is a breeze with a simple rinse and wipe. As long as you stay away from aerosol sprays you will have an enjoyable experience with this cookware or any cookware for that matter. If you must spray in your oil then I suggest you buy an oil mister because spraying from a can simply adds residue that ruins pans and takes away from the flavor of your food after buildup occurs. The best feature for all you home chefs is that this pan is 100% DISHWASHER SAFE! It's also oven safe to 500 degrees.
The clear glass cover rounds out the entire package deal and is equally easy to clean. It's nice to be able to cover your pan while cooking and still see what is happening inside without lifting the lid and loosing heat or worse causing a steam burn. Last but not least, the cookware is guaranteed for life, so what are you waiting for, go get one and start something new and exciting in the kitchen!
Best nonstick ever October 19, 2009 T. Fisher (Marin County, CA) 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
The difference between my old nonstick cookware (Culinary Essentials brand purchased at Costco over 10 years ago) and this Calphalon Unison cookware is like night and day. The food cooks evenly and absolutely does not stick. The pan is weighty without being too heavy and the handles stay cool. The glass lids are also nice. This Unison cookware is one of the few choices that is dishwasher safe and guaranteed for life, a selling point for me. So far, though, I've hand washed it. A few seconds is all it takes to come clean.
Awesome cookware! October 11, 2009 Dennis Kugizaki (Colorado Springs, CO USA) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
The surface on the Unison pan is incredible. I am curious how it will perform with age. Better than anything else out there. The promo price of $60 makes this an exceptional deal. Even cooking, and TOTAL non-stick makes this a busy cook's dream pan! When you are done cooking, washing this pan is also as easy to do as cooking in it.
More than an omelet pan December 8, 2009 W. Hohauser (NYC) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
Bought this as a replacement for an old Calphalon non-stick fry pan. This pan is much, much better. While they label this as an omelet pan (and it does that very well) you'll find it excellent for all sorts of sautés and stir-frying. The Unison set is sort of expensive but this one pan is a great deal.
Omelettes never tasted any better! February 23, 2010 Phi (Boston, MA USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Bought this pan because my mother in-law needed a non-stick pan that's extra wide and flat in order to fry fish. So far we haven't fried any fish yet because the fish we bought have tails way too long that they still hang out of this pan! But I used this pan to make omelets, which was what it was designed for, and the omelets came out perfect, just the way I like it: soft, cooked white on the outside, and soft liquidy chewy on the inside. It's great for the kids because you don't have to feel guilty about feeding them uncooked yolks anymore. My 10 year old son said it's one of the best omelets he ever ate in his life! I never thought a good omelet pan can make such a big difference in your omelets but now I know. Also love the cool handle and glass lid.
