The tiered structure fits both 6- and 8-inch diameter pots and creates an ideal steaming environment for small and large quantities of vegetables, greens, and fresh shellfish. Crafted from heavy-gauge 18/10 stainless steel, the steamer is strong without clumsiness and is easily controlled by its two riveted side loop handles. Measuring 8-1/2 inches in diameter, the lid features a deep draw to keep steam from escaping and has a gleaming mirror finish to match the body. Both pieces are pretty enough to bring to the table--a rather unusual trait in steamers--and safe in the dishwasher.
