With this two-piece set from Le Creuset, you can make your own grilled panini sandwiches and produce char lines on hamburgers or chicken breasts for that barbecued look. The 10-1/4-inch square cast-iron grill pan features raised ridges in the bottom that not only create the lines but drain fat, for which the two side pour spouts are designed. To make panini, heat the heavy cast-iron press on another burner, then place on top of the sandwich in the hot grill pan, so that both sides cook at once. The heat melts cheese and the pressure keeps a veggie-filled sandwich intact. The pan is safe for use in the oven, under the broiler, on any type of stovetop burner, and in the freezer and refrigerator. Le Creuset is known for suffusing the exterior of its products with bright, modern colors, while keeping a more neutral tone on the interior to showcase the cuisine. Non-metal utensils work best on enamel, which will not stain, crack, or absorb odors. After use, wash the press and pan by hand, or place the pan in the dishwasher.
