Perfect for a small family, eating fondue also can become a spirited game with penalty kisses for items lost in the melted cheese. Dip bread squares, apples, salami, carrots, or cauliflower in rich, melted Gruyere or cream cheese. The fondue pot and its stand feature cast-iron construction. The cast-iron pot benefits from unmatched durability against warping and breakage, superb heat retention, and even heat distribution. Porcelain enamel coats the fondue pot to eliminate the need for pre-seasoning on the interiors, which other cast-iron cookware requires. This construction also allows the pot to adapt for stovetop or oven use. The fondue pot is cast with two small handles. For the best care, use wooden stirring spoons or nonstick utensils when preparing fondue to avoid scratching the enamel surface.
